A downloadable zine

What Cannot Be Held is a poetry zine about queer crip survival in this moment in time, or at least, what it feels like for me. Maybe you'll feel it too.

16 new poems, plus a recommended-reading care package, all available in digital, printable, and audio formats. Some pieces are speculative and some are spoken-style and some are a more literary bent.  Tender, fierce, tired, and above all, present.

Poems:

  • I will touch your face again
  • Chambered
  • Movement Practice
  • fear
  • A prayer for seeds
  • The voice on the air
  • sharp edges
  • At the Edge of the End
  • Transposition
  • angerblock
  • To Go to Ground
  • Wrap Up What Remains
  • Looking down, looking out
  • Remember
  • The Childless Bear
  • Lullaby

CONTENT NOTES: the pandemic and general state of the world at this time, and lots of big feelings, community grief, heartache. No specific, explicit traumas.

IF PRINTING: print double-sided, flipping on the short edge - but printers sometimes make their own strange rotational decisions, so maybe print a couple pages first just to check nothing is coming out upside down or sideways. There are page numbers in that file version for your reference. Then fold in half, staple, and you're done!

AUDIO: mp3s include all the content of the visual versions, including table of contents, dedication, bio, etc. Each is a separate named and numbered track. Read by me!
